The August studio tour is in the books; I had so many guests come to visit, a nice break in my painting routine to talk and share with friendly visitors. Most were as struck by the beauty of this place – the sweep of land down to the bay, expansive sky and fields, the wind – as by the paintings on the walls. I have to say, I feel that way, too. It gives me joy each day to come out here.

To everyone who stopped by, thank you for coming to see my art. And if you just signed up for this email, welcome! As I look back on the summer, now in its last weeks, I’m so glad that I shared this beautiful place and the paintings that I hope express that beauty with you. I work alone out here (with only the chickens outside) most of the year, and sharing my process and place with all the others who come along on the tour is rewarding.

Open Studio

I’m looking over some of the paintings we talked about most during the tour and I’d like to share them with all who didn’t make it out to Fogland. In no particular order:

“Champagne Fountain” ; 22×16 in. I grew these a few years ago. They were fabulous!
Curtain Call, oil painting copyright Peter Dickison 2021
“Curtain Call” ; 6×6 in. I think of the Parrot tulip as a Diva on a stage, a marvelous performance, taking a bow for an adoring audience
Landscape in the making.
Salmon Clouds after a storm.
